Research Interests
My current research interests span various topics in Artificial Intelligence. I am specifially interested in Neural Networks, Machine Learning, esp in Reinforcement Learning, My previous interests were Biologically inspired AI (Genetic Algorithms, Tabu Search, Simulated Annealing, Particle Swarm Optimization, Membrane Computing), Combinatorial Optimization Methods and Graph Theory.

Previous Work
In my senior project, I have been deeply involved with the Biologically inspired AI methods. The project contains a survey of heuristic search algorithms derived from natural phenomena and their application to AI problems. The emphasis was on solving Combinatorial Optimization and Constraint Satisfaction Models. The following algorithms have been examined: Genetic Algorithms, Evolutionary Strategies, Tabu Search, Simulated Annealing, Ant Systems, Particle Swarm Optimization, Cultural Algorithms, Neural Networks, and Membrane Computing. The second part of the project entails developing a new algorithm for solving the Graph Coloring Problem by hybridization of a Tabu Search and a Genetic Algorithm. An improved version of the algorithm was presented in the 20th Congress of Informatics of Turkey.
